Thailand Raises Expressway Tolls From December
Thailand's expressway tolls will increase starting December 15, with passenger vehicles rising from 65 to 80 baht and larger vehicles facing proportional hikes on the Prachimrathaya and connected expressways.
Thailand's Ministry of Transport has announced new toll rates for the Prachimrathaya Expressway, also known as the Si Rat–Outer Ring Road Expressway, effective from 15 December. The announcement was published in the Royal Gazette on Monday following approval by the Expressway Authority of Thailand board at its meeting on 14 July.
Under the new Transport Ministry regulation, the Prachimrathaya Expressway will remain a toll road, with rates set under the Expressway Authority of Thailand Act. The new regulation replaces the previous 2021 announcement governing tolls on the Si Rat–Outer Ring Road Expressway.
For motorists using the Prachimrathaya Expressway to connect to the Si Rat Expressway and the Chalong Rat Expressway, tolls will be collected at the Bang Sue 2 toll plaza.
The new toll rates are: vehicles with up to four wheels increase from 65 baht to 80 baht per vehicle; vehicles with more than four but no more than 10 wheels rise from 105 baht to 130 baht; and vehicles with more than 10 wheels jump from 150 baht to 185 baht.
The Si Rat Expressway covers the Chaeng Watthana–Bang Khlo and Phaya Thai–Si Nakharin routes, while the Chalong Rat Expressway covers the Din Daeng–Tha Ruea, Bang Na–Tha Ruea and Dao Khanong–Tha Ruea routes. The regulation was signed on 27 August by Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and comes into force on 15 December 2026.
