Chanaathip Songkrasin, Thailand's key midfielder, confirmed the national team is 100 percent ready to win the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 and bring the trophy home to fans. The full squad reported on September 21 at Novotel Rangsit under coach Anthony Hudson to prepare for the tournament being held in Indonesia for the first time.
Chanaathip said: "Personally, along with the coaching staff and teammates, we are completely prepared. This tournament is tough because every nation will field their best teams, but our only goal is to become champions. We will give everything to secure victory for our country. I believe we all share one objective—the players, coaches, and fans backing us."
On facing Vietnam, he added: "Vietnam is a strong team, and we hope to defeat them to boost confidence for the Thai national team and our supporters."
He acknowledged challenges ahead: "This is a tournament-style competition played at neutral venues. Food and different stadium conditions may be difficult for us, but we already have plenty of experience playing football abroad. Every team faces the same unfamiliar settings, and only Indonesia might have a home crowd advantage. We must do whatever it takes to win for our nation."
Chanaathip stressed the importance of focus and analysis: "We need to focus on our team and analyze how we compare to our opponents, identifying our strengths and weaknesses."
