Pickup Truck Crashes Into Steel-Loaded Truck, Seven Injured
A pickup truck attempting a high-speed overtake collided with a steel-laden six-wheeled truck in Chachoengsao province on September 21, injuring seven people who were rushed to nearby hospitals.
At 9:00 AM on September 21, Lam Sing Police Station received a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a six-wheeled truck carrying steel materials. Multiple people were injured on a road before a restaurant in Bang Ka Chai subdistrict, Lam Sing district, Chachoengsao province. Police, rescue volunteers from Sawang Katanyutham Chachoengsao Association, and local officials rushed to inspect and assist.
At the scene, injured people were scattered along the road and inside vehicles. Rescue workers and residents provided emergency first aid amid the chaos. The blue Isuzu pickup truck, registered in Chachoengsao, had severe front-end damage. It had been modified with a steel frame at the rear to carry materials including PVC pipes and ground coverings.
Nearby, the six-wheeled truck, also registered in Chachoengsao, was overturned on the roadside. The impact caused steel cargo to scatter across the road surface.
CCTV footage from nearby homes showed the six-wheeled truck turning left out of an alley, then straightening and slowing to turn right into a side road. The pickup truck following behind attempted to overtake on the right at high speed but failed to pass, crashing hard into the middle of the truck's cargo area and causing the accident.
The collision resulted in seven injured people. Sawang Katanyutham rescue personnel coordinated immediate transport to hospitals, with three victims sent to Tha Mai Hospital and four to Lam Sing Hospital.
Lam Sing Police investigation officers documented the scene as evidence and interviewed surrounding witnesses to determine the cause of the accident. Legal proceedings will follow. Both vehicles have been towed for storage pending further forensic examination.
