Thailand Promotes Health Products to Global Standards with Quality Awards
Thailand awarded the 2026 FDA Quality Award to 119 health product organizations, emphasizing the government's push to elevate Thai products to international standards and strengthen the health economy sector.
The Public Health Ministry awarded the FDA Quality Award for 2026 on September 21 at Impact Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi, with Public Health Minister Pattana Prom Pattana presiding. The awards honored outstanding health product businesses and products, with FDA Secretary-General Supattra Boonserem and health product industry representatives in attendance.
Minister Pattana stated that Thailand possesses strong potential across food, herbal medicine, health products, medicine, health services, and wellness sectors. A key priority is elevating Thai wisdom to international standards and positioning Thai products as world-class health offerings. He emphasized that health and economy are interconnected: quality health systems build public confidence, standardized health products create consumer trust, and health innovations generate economic value and new opportunities following the "Health for Wealth" concept, aligning with the ministry's core health economy policy.
The FDA Quality Award reflects more than business pride; it symbolizes Thai entrepreneurs' commitment to quality, standards, and product safety while holding responsibility to consumers. This strengthens public trust and helps elevate Thailand's health product industry for stable global competition.
The Public Health Ministry will collaborate across sectors to build a health ecosystem supporting consumer protection, innovation development, investment, and the growth of Thailand's health economy. The ministry will streamline regulations and reduce bureaucratic steps to help all business levels develop quality, safe, internationally standardized products that boost competitiveness and economic value while protecting consumers—advancing the goal of "safe people, growing businesses, and competitive Thailand."
Public Health Ministry Permanent Secretary Somruk Chungsaman noted that the FDA Quality Award has been granted continuously since 2009 to promote health product businesses committed to quality, standards, safety, and social responsibility. This aligns with the ministry's "Health Economy, Generate Income" policy and efforts to advance Thai health products globally.
The award serves as both an economic stimulus mechanism and a model for building consumer confidence in safety and excellence. This year, the FDA emphasizes upgrading standards for medicine and medical device self-sufficiency while accelerating approval for health products, medical innovations, and community herbal products for international markets to boost national competitiveness. A total of 119 organizations and health products met selection criteria and received the 2026 FDA Quality Award, covering food, medicine, and manufacturing categories.
