Three Police Officers Stripped of Rank, Medals Revoked
Three police officers have been stripped of rank and all royal honors revoked by Prime Minister order, with disciplinary actions dating back to 2017.
The Royal Gazette released an official announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister on August 5, 2025, authorizing the removal of three former police officers from their positions and the revocation of all royal honors previously granted to them. The three officers involved are: 1. Police Colonel Ratrawee Chaiyachana, stripped of rank effective October 31, 2017, for serious disciplinary violations and dismissed from service. His revoked decorations include the Tritaraphon Changpheuak, Tritaraphon Mongkut Thai, Chaturdaaphon Changpheuak, Chaturdaaphon Mongkut Thai, Medal of Freedom (2nd Class, Type 2), Border Service Medal, and the Chakramala Medal. 2. Police Major Yousorn Abdulsama, stripped of rank effective November 25, 2021, for serious disciplinary violations and dismissed from service. His revoked honors include the Tritaraphon Changpheuak, Tritaraphon Mongkut Thai, Chaturdaaphon Changpheuak, Chaturdaaphon Mongkut Thai, and the Border Service Medal. 3. Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuvanai Kaewnoi, stripped of rank effective October 26, 2024, for serious disciplinary violations and dismissed from service. His revoked decorations include the Medal of Freedom (2nd Class, Type 2) and the Border Service Medal. All three individuals have been removed from the official list of royal honor recipients.
