Three Thai Golfers Tie for Sixth at SJM Macau Open
Three Thai golfers — Sodam Kaeokanjana, Itthiphat Buranthatran, and Naparat Panichpon — are tied for sixth after the second round of the SJM Macau Open 2026. Sodam shot a 3‑under‑par 67, while the leaders include South Korea’s Im Sung‑jae at 13‑under‑par. The cut line fell at 1‑under‑par 139, allowing 17 Thai players to advance to the final weekend.
After the second round, Sodam Kaeokanjana added a 3‑under‑par 67, featuring four consecutive birdies from holes 6 to 9 and a single bogey on hole 13, for a two‑day total of 7‑under‑par 133, tying for sixth with Itthiphat Buranthatran and Naparat Panichpon, who each shot 4‑under‑par 66. They trail South Korea’s Im Sung‑jae by six strokes.
Sodam Kaeokanjana, a three‑time Asian Tour winner aged 28, said after his round: “I played like yesterday, but the wind was stronger early on and I couldn’t make any birdies. I got four birdies in a row starting at hole 6, which made the game flow smoothly. For the remaining two days I’ll stick to my plan; the wind will likely be a big factor, so we’ll have to see how to adjust.”
Im Sung‑jae, the two‑time PGA Tour champion from South Korea, added a 7‑under‑par 63, maintaining his lead for a second day with a cumulative 13‑under‑par 127 and no bogeys over the two rounds. He said: “I played well both rounds — six under yesterday and seven under today — and I haven’t dropped a single bogey over the two days, which I’m very pleased with. Wind will be a key factor on this course; if it’s breezy I’ll play more conservatively, otherwise I’ll be more aggressive.”
Other notable performances: former champion Pwit Tangkomolprasert and Swedish veteran Henrik Stenson each carded a 1‑under‑par 70, putting them at 6‑under‑par 134, tied with Srut Wongchaisith and Thanaphon Phichaikul for 14th. Former world No. 3 Paul Casey of England shot a 4‑under‑par 66 to share 36th place at 3‑under‑par 137, while LIV Golf’s Peter Uihlein from the United States added a 1‑under‑par 69 for an even‑par 140 and missed the cut. After the second round the cut line was set at 1‑under‑par 139, allowing 17 Thai players to advance to the final two days.
