A harrowing incident occurred when a sedan drove up an incline and struck two young children, ages 2 and 4, who were playing in front of a dormitory. Both children were injured. The driver expressed deep regret, saying he could not see them as something appeared to obstruct his view.

At 1:30 p.m. on August 1, 2025, Deputy Investigation Officer Phanutphong Chuankrathok of Muang Police Station, Nakhon Ratchasima, received a report of a vehicle collision involving injured children at Krong Kaew Dormitory, No. 430, Moo 2, Ban Nong Phot, Tambon Nong Krathuam, Muang District. He rushed to the scene with volunteer rescue personnel from Sawang Mettha Foundation.

At the dormitory entrance, a gray Toyota Yaris with license plate Ngor 8914 (Nakhon Ratchasima) was found parked. Two young boys were injured. The first, identified as Nathaphisit, age 2, a resident of the dormitory, was run over by the vehicle's wheels and lost consciousness for more than five minutes before his guardian revived him by splashing water on his face.

The second child, Pititham Raksmai, age 4, the dormitory owner's grandchild, sustained abrasions across his body. Rescue personnel immediately transported him to Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.

Investigation revealed that both children regularly played with toys in front of the dormitory. At the time of the incident, the 2-year-old's guardian was at work in Pak Chong District and had left the child in the care of an older sister and grandmother. The car driver, a resident of the same dormitory, was driving up the steep incline into the parking area when he struck and ran over the children.

The driver was in shock and expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating he did not want this to happen. He said that while driving up the incline, he could not see the children, as if something was obstructing his view.

Both children are now safe. Preliminary examination showed no broken bones, and doctors performed detailed X-rays of their bodies. Results are pending confirmation. The incident serves as a cautionary tale for vehicle users entering and exiting residential areas, and parents and guardians must increase precautions and vigilance in protecting young children.
