Woman Charged With Four Offenses Including Article 112
A woman and two others were charged with multiple offenses including Article 112 (royal defamation) after reporting to Khon Kaen police on September 18, with the woman facing four counts including theft and property encroachment.
On September 18, Chommani Noijchan (Pada) and Woradej Changboo (Luang Waen Thanawat) reported to Muang Khon Kaen Police Station for the second time following investigators' summons. The pair arrived by van with private lawyers, flanked by about 10 police officers maintaining order. Upon arrival, police questioned them and formally notified them of the charges in a fourth-floor meeting room.
According to Pol. Lt. Col. Yosawaunch Kaewseubthanya, superintendent of Muang Khon Kaen Police Station, all suspects denied the allegations. Pada faces four charges: theft, encroachment on another's property without just cause, threatening behavior causing fear or distress (under articles 210, 362, 363, 365(3), and 392, carrying a sentence of up to five years imprisonment or a fine up to 100,000 baht or both), and a violation of Article 112. Buakai faces two charges: providing false information to land officials regarding a lost title deed for 21 rai of land (though the deed was actually held by a Buddhist monk), and an Article 112 violation. A man in purple also faces an Article 112 charge for falsely claiming to hold a royal decree to expel the monk from the temple in August.
The superintendent stated that investigators will gather evidence and documents related to the Article 112 charges and submit their conclusions with recommendations to commanders. The investigation is expected to be completed and forwarded to the Khon Kaen Province Public Prosecutor's Office by late October.
