Woman Reports Ex-Boyfriend to Cyber Police for Leaked Images and Death Threats
A 25-year-old woman filed a cyber police complaint against her ex-boyfriend for sharing intimate videos on social media and making death threats after his release on bail, including sending a funeral wreath to her mother's address.
At 10:00 a.m. on August 10, 2025, at the Technology Crime Investigation Bureau (TCIB) in Thonburi, Major Thanakrit Chittaareerat and a 25-year-old woman identified as Ms. A met with Deputy Commander Wiwat Khamchanit to pursue a case against her ex-boyfriend who posted intimate videos on social media and engaged in harassment and threats at her home, showing no respect for the law. He continued posting images even after his arrest and release on bail.
Dr. Thanakrit stated that this latest complaint came after previous legal action, yet the defendant's behavior had not ceased and new incidents continued to occur, necessitating urgent investigation and fact-checking. The funeral wreath and two banana plants sent after the initial report should be examined to determine if they constitute new offenses. If evidence links them to the defendant, strict legal action must follow.
Ms. A revealed that after her ex-boyfriend's arrest and bail release, he posted nude photos in a group with 140,000 members, causing her distress. She believes only he could have done this, as the photos existed only between them. When she confronted him, he challenged her to report him, which she interpreted as intimidation meant to force reconciliation. He also threatened to drive past her home, placed two banana plants—symbols of death—in front of her house, threatened to kill her and her mother, sent a pink funeral wreath addressed to her mother's name with cash-on-delivery payment of 168 baht (with her phone number on the package), and called her threatening to kill. All of this left her terrified and wanting to end her life.
Deputy Commander Wiwat said investigators will gather evidence and take a detailed statement from Ms. A. If the defendant is found responsible while facing outstanding charges, authorities can petition to revoke his bail. Evidence presented today is circumstantial; investigators need detailed testimony to confirm the defendant's identity. If he posted the images, he faces up to 5 years imprisonment or a fine not exceeding 100,000 baht or both. Those who shared or forwarded the obscene content face similar penalties.
