12-Year-Old Freya Finishes 11th in Asian Games Skateboarding
Thai 12-year-old skateboer Freya Siriya Brown finished 11th at the Asian Games park competition, narrowly missing advancement to the next round in her first elite-level event.
Thai skateboarder Freya Siriya Brown competed in the women's park skateboarding qualifying round at the 20th Asian Games on September 24. She scored a total of 41.76 points and finished in 11th place, which prevented her from advancing to the next round. After the competition, Thai national team coach Kenny Reid said: "Freya performed very well and executed her runs perfectly as planned. Although she has had impressive results at the Southeast Asian Games, this Asian Games competition marks her first time competing at this level. She is the youngest and least experienced athlete in this event compared to many competitors who have competed at the Olympic and World Tour levels, including skaters ranked in the top 10 globally. The fact that Freya was able to demonstrate her full potential and complete her runs flawlessly is a very meaningful achievement and represents another crucial step in her development and path toward a future Olympic career."
