Fish Donor Says Foundation Ignored Her After 1.2-Ton Delivery
A woman who donated 1.2 tons of fish to a foundation to support her land dispute case in Trat province says the organization went silent after delivery and never provided the promised assistance, leaving her out 400,000 baht.
On September 24, two residents, Am and Dream, spoke about their experience with a fish donation to a prominent foundation. Am explained that in March 2024, while fighting a dispute over 6 rai of land in Trat province with government officials and facing intimidation, she decided to seek help from the foundation's Facebook page after discovering something suspicious in her fish stock. Her first request went unanswered, but after more people were affected by the land dispute and evidence accumulated, she tried again. The foundation's team then called and asked if the matter was "hot," and negotiated to scale up her initial offer of 30 kilograms to 1.2 tons, which they said would make the case more compelling to present to authorities.
Am and Dream said that after they personally delivered the fish to a market near the government offices as instructed, the foundation went silent. They received no follow-up support despite the agreed assistance. The total cost of the fish, processing, drying, frying, packaging, and transport came to approximately 400,000 baht, which they had to cover entirely out of pocket. After being ignored by the foundation, they eventually found help through another team, led by Dr. Thanakrit Chitarayratna, whose staff assisted them immediately with multiple government agencies without delay.
Dream emphasized they do not want donations of money, milk, or diapers, but justice, fairness, and remedy for what happened. Over the past 2–3 years of pursuing the case, they have spent money traveling to multiple provinces including Trat, Chanthaburi, Samut Sakhon, and Bangkok, depleting their savings and forcing them to borrow money.
