Prince of Songkla University's Trang campus, through its Faculty of Commerce and Management, achieved national recognition when students and faculty advisors from the Rakkaew club won two awards at the Enactus Thailand National Exposition 2026 competition held on August 30 at Siam Square Mitr Town Hall in Bangkok. The awards included second-place runner-up at the national level with a prize of 15,000 baht and first place in the Southern Region Impact League category.
Enactus Thailand National Exposition is a platform that enables young innovators to apply business knowledge and concepts to develop social innovations that create positive change for society and the environment, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For this competition, the Rakkaew club presented a project titled "Promoting Community Products from Nypa Palm Materials," leveraging local resources and traditional knowledge to create value-added products that meet market demands, generate income, and strengthen the grassroots economy.
The project's foundation is a Co-Creation process that engages students, communities, entrepreneurs, and consumers from problem identification and community needs assessment through product design, market testing, and expert feedback, enabling continuous improvement and enhanced market competitiveness.
Students also employed Business Matching strategies to connect communities with businesses and commercial sectors, positioning local communities as the production base and bridging university knowledge with local wisdom and resources to expand market opportunities, ultimately creating sustainable income, employment, and community self-reliance.
The project was guided by faculty advisors: Nattha Yalee (Business English curriculum instructor), Thepyuda Feukong (Public Administration curriculum instructor), and Dr. Kitichutvat Ratnamani (Marketing curriculum instructor).
Student representatives competing in the competition included Dechrit Suwannachothi (fourth-year Public Administration student and club president), Kittipong Ruamphan (third-year Public Administration student), Chakkaphat Thongin (second-year Business English student), Yanisa Thongdee (third-year Business English student), Prema Chotivichapong (third-year Accounting student), Arefa Samaea (third-year Marketing student), and Rukkaiyah Kaewsamut (third-year Marketing student).
This achievement reflects the capacity of Prince of Songkla University Trang campus students to integrate knowledge from diverse disciplines into social innovation that creates tangible benefits for communities, while nurturing new-generation leaders with responsibility toward society and the environment.
Prince of Songkla University continues to advance knowledge and innovation to create value for communities and society under the philosophy "We have done it, we are doing it, and we will continue to do so with responsibility to society," because SDGs at Prince of Songkla University is a value for the southern land.
