Bomokawa Extends Winning Streak with Third-Round Knockout
Filipino fighter Islaiye Erika Bomokawa knocked out Klinpaka P. Thaisong in the third round at ONE Lumpinee 164, extending her undefeated streak to four wins and earning a ONE Championship contract.
At ONE Lumpinee 164 on July 31 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium (Rama Intra), 25-year-old Filipino fighter Islaiye Erika Bomokawa, undefeated across her four ONE Lumpinee appearances, faced Klinpaka P. Thaisong, a skilled boxer from Chiang Rai, under Muay Thai rules in the atomweight division (105-115 lbs).
The opening round was cautious, with the referee issuing warnings to encourage more aggressive striking. In the final 30 seconds, both fighters showed increased activity, though no significant technique landed cleanly.
Round two opened with both fighters advancing immediately. Klinpaka threw kicks and attempted to close distance, while Bomokawa countered with straight punches, particularly late in the round, landing effective elbow strikes.
Seconds into round three, Bomokawa unleashed a powerful right hook directly to Klinpaka's chin, dropping her to the canvas. The referee immediately stopped the bout, giving Islaiye Erika Bomokawa the victory. She received a 350,000-baht knockout bonus and earned a contract with ONE Championship.
