Chachoengsao police are conducting a search at a suspicious burial site in a dry forest along Highway 7 near Rayong, following confessions from two men accused of killing and burying two Russian siblings.

On July 31, 2025, police reported progress in the case of a Russian brother and sister who disappeared with their motorcycle in the early morning of July 26. Investigators tracked down and arrested Thana (nicknamed Pong), 43, and Thongchai (nicknamed Thong), 39, in Sa Kaeo province.

Both suspects initially confessed that they killed the two victims. They shot the younger sibling and beat the elder sister to death because the pair resisted their attempted motorcycle theft. The suspects then transported and buried the bodies in the Chakkhaeng dry forest area, Moo 11, Huai Yai subdistrict, Ban Lanung district, Chachoengsao province.

Following the confessions, police officers worked alongside Ban Lanung district authorities and volunteer rescue workers to inspect the location identified by the suspects. They coordinated with forensic teams and relevant agencies to conduct a thorough examination of the area to locate the bodies and gather evidence for forensic analysis.

Most recently, Ponphan Wongmanithes, commander of Chachoengsao Provincial Police, and Isara Charoenjarearwee, deputy governor of Chachoengsao province, personally visited the incident command center and ordered the area sealed off, restricting access to unrelated persons.

Authorities discovered a mound of straw approximately 2 meters long beneath a tree at the suspected burial location. The site has been cordoned off to preserve evidence while forensic officers conduct detailed examination. Excavation will follow to determine whether human remains or objects matching the suspects' statements are present in the grave.

Based on investigation leads, authorities believe the grave contains the bodies of both Russian victims. Evidence examination and collection are ongoing, with forensic results expected to provide crucial information for further case development.

Heavy downpours in Phetchabun province sent a massive surge of water into the Pasak River, which overflowed its banks and flooded homes in Ban Wang Muang (Moo 8) and Ban Wang Khon (Moo 1), Tat Kloi subdistrict, Lom Kao district—marking the second deluge in as many days. This time, water levels rose higher and covered a wider area than the previous flood. About 40 to 50 houses were damaged, with floodwaters reaching 50–80 centimeters in depth at some locations, making it impossible for small vehicles to pass. In the case of Hulun Solow, a well-known YouTuber who went missing in Georgia for over two weeks before being found dead at a hotel, his brother Klose Mos posted on Facebook to provide an update on proceedings. The family has learned from the embassy and Georgian police that the process of returning the remains to Thailand is currently in the documentation stage, with police awaiting a power of attorney document from Thailand. Once all paperwork is complete, police will coordinate with Georgian prosecutors to expedite the removal of the body from the morgue and its return to Thailand as quickly as possible.

Regarding the cause of death, an official autopsy has not yet been conducted, so the family cannot confirm or conclude the circumstances. They are awaiting formal results from authorities.

Police have confirmed that the deceased's belongings—including a camera, notebook, mobile phone, wallet, cash, passport, clothing, and other items—were found intact, with no signs of theft or disturbance. The cash remains accounted for. However, the camera, notebook, and mobile phone may need to be retained as evidence for ongoing investigation and therefore cannot be returned to Thailand at this time. Other items such as cash, passport, and clothing can be returned.

The family will continue to monitor updates from the embassy and relevant agencies, relying only on officially confirmed information to avoid confusion and misinformation. The timeline for returning the body to Thailand is still being finalized, and the embassy will notify the family as soon as exact travel and arrival dates are confirmed.

A prominent Thai influencer known for hosting concerts posted about a swollen lump beneath his jaw that has grown over nearly two months and causes severe pain. He said he initially saw a doctor who advised waiting and prescribed medication, with a follow-up scheduled for September, but he insisted he wanted surgery because the lump was enlarging. On July 31, experiencing intense pain, he visited the hospital before his scheduled appointment, but it was a public holiday and he was directed to a medical center. When his appointment slip showed only blood tests and a doctor visit in September—not surgery—staff told him to wait for his scheduled date. He later posted that a staff member's response of "you have to wait until your appointment" made him feel dismissed, asking why a patient in severe pain seeking re-evaluation before his scheduled date is wrong. He clarified he wasn't trying to jump the queue, just asking for a new assessment because his condition had worsened. He emphasized his post was not an attack on the hospital or all staff, noting many doctors and personnel had treated him well. Phraya Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Hospital subsequently issued a clarification stating that the patient had been scheduled for surgery on September 2, but presented on July 31 with new symptoms of pain and redness for two days. An ear, nose, and throat specialist reassessed him, found urgent treatment was needed, and immediately performed emergency drainage to prevent infection and relieve pain. The hospital stated it prioritizes patient safety and quality care, and would review service procedures and patient guidance to ensure standards are met.

Police under escort of suspect Bong traveled to the Sak Ngaew forest area in Huai Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province, to investigate the alleged burial location of the two Russian siblings. Officers from Bang Lamung district administration and volunteer rescue workers conducted thorough searches of the area to locate remains and collect forensic evidence, with autopsies to follow legal procedures.

Investigators are continuing to gather additional evidence to identify all persons involved in the case and are examining the motive and sequence of events in detail. Reports indicate that beyond investigating the disappearance of the two Russian nationals, authorities have received information suggesting as many as three additional bodies may be buried in the same location. However, this information remains under investigation and has not been officially confirmed by police.
