Police Chief Approves Resignation of Chief Police Doctor Amid Ethics Charges
The National Police Office approved the resignation of Chief Police Doctor Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Taveesil Vejvitarnon effective August 1, 2026, following an investigation that found ethical violations in a medical case at Police Hospital.
On July 31, 2026, the National Police Office issued Order No. 341/2569 approving the resignation of Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Taveesil Vejvitarnon, chief police physician, effective August 1, 2026. The approval was granted under the National Police Act B.E. 2565 and police regulations governing officer resignations. National Police Commander Pol. Gen. Kittiphat Punthavet signed the order on July 27, 2026. Prior to this, on July 29, an investigation committee chaired by Pol. Gen. Korjai Klaiklueang, Deputy Police Commander, unanimously determined that Dr. Taveesil had committed ethical violations according to the Medical Council's findings in the Class 14 case at Police Hospital. The National Police Commander subsequently authorized the establishment of a serious disciplinary investigation committee, chaired by Pol. Gen. Ittiphon Atchchariyapradit, Director of the National Police.
