Doctor Warns: Frequent Dizziness When Changing Positions May Signal Five Hidden Diseases
30 Jul Khaosod

Dr. Jetsada Bunyavongviroat, deputy director of primary care at Maha Racha Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, warns that frequent dizziness when changing positions or lightheadedness upon standing may indicate five conditions many people unknowingly have. He urges people not to dismiss these symptoms.

Many people experience darkened vision when getting out of bed or needing to grab a table when standing from a chair, sometimes with heart palpitations, sweating, and near-fainting sensations. While people often assume these episodes pass quickly due to standing too fast, daily occurrences warrant medical attention. Positional dizziness can signal low blood pressure, anemia, heart arrhythmias, or nervous system problems affecting blood pressure regulation.

The five conditions to watch for include: (1) Orthostatic hypotension—blood pressure drops upon standing, causing dark vision, weak legs, or near-fainting because blood hasn't yet reached the brain; (2) Anemia—reduced oxygen delivery to the brain causes dizziness, fatigue, heart palpitations, and pallor; a CBC blood test is recommended before taking iron supplements; (3) Heart arrhythmias—irregular heartbeats may cause intermittent dizziness with rapid or slow heart rates, chest pain, or shortness of breath, requiring ECG or heart rhythm monitoring; (4) Diabetes-related nerve damage—prolonged high blood sugar damages nerves controlling heart rate and blood pressure, causing dizziness upon standing; (5) BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo)—if symptoms involve room spinning rather than darkened vision when turning in bed or moving the head, causing brief intense spinning when the head moves in the same direction, treatable through repositioning exercises rather than blood pressure or fluid remedies.

Until a diagnosis is confirmed, Dr. Jetsada recommends: rising from bed gradually by sitting first before standing; flexing ankles or moving legs before standing to help blood flow; staying hydrated and eating regularly; noting when episodes occur, their duration, and associated symptoms; measuring blood pressure and pulse while lying down and after standing to share with a doctor; and avoiding self-treatment with medication adjustments, salt increases, or blood tonics. Seek emergency care if dizziness accompanies slurred speech, facial drooping, weakness, chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, or severe headache. For those experiencing repeated positional dizziness, medical evaluation to identify the underlying cause is essential.

Thai YouTuber Hloon Found Dead in Georgia

Thai YouTuber Hloon Found Dead in Georgia
30 Jul Khaosod

The grandmother of Hloon Solo tearfully accepted her grandson's death in Georgia after the Thai Foreign Ministry confirmed the news, rejecting claims of suicide and sharing the last promise he made to her. At 8:30 AM on July 30, 2025, at the family home in Samet District, Kalasin Province—the residence of Hloon Solo, also known as Borvarthat Pengsuk, a Thai backpacker YouTuber who mysteriously disappeared in Georgia—journalists from multiple outlets gathered to monitor developments in his case, which had been widely followed on social media and reported from Georgia.

Throughout July 29, the family remained skeptical without official consular confirmation. Late that night, the Foreign Ministry contacted the family and confirmed through Hloon's siblings that the body found in a Georgian hotel was definitively Borvarthat's remains. Upon receiving the news, the family wept with profound grief, particularly grandmother Samet Pengsuk, who broke into tears as relatives embraced in sorrow.

Grandmother Samet revealed that she received confirmation overnight that her grandson Hloon had died and expressed deep sadness and regret that he had been taken so young. She described him as a good person—hardworking, grateful, and cheerful. When he was home, neighborhood children would gather to play happily with him. Regarding reports that he died by suicide, she flatly rejected this, saying it was impossible: he neither drank alcohol nor smoked, so suicide made no sense whatsoever.

Grandmother Samet recounted with a trembling voice that since Hloon finished school, whenever she wanted something, he would find it for her—whatever food she craved, he would bring. Even exotic snacks from places he traveled abroad, he would always give to her first. Most recently, before departing for Georgia, he had asked what she wanted as a gift. She had asked for a karaoke set so they could sing together. Hloon had promised, and she had looked forward to singing with him at year's end, but now that would never happen—a source of genuine heartbreak.

Hloon's elder brother posted confirmation that their younger brother was gone and would never return. The Thai Embassy in Turkey disclosed that Hloon Solo's assets remain intact following his death in Georgia. An urgent letter was sent to the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association requesting assistance for Hloon's family.

Meanwhile, Hloon's relatives have raised concerns about the circumstances of his death, suspecting foul play. They question the timeline of the body's discovery, noting that Georgian police found him in a hotel and could not contact relatives—despite the fact that a passport should have been on file at check-in. They are demanding clarity on the cause of death. As for funeral arrangements, the family has not yet made concrete plans, as they are awaiting coordination with Georgian authorities regarding the body. No clear timeline has yet been announced for repatriating his remains for merit-making ceremonies.

TISCO Signals Portfolio Shift From Tech to Energy Stocks

TISCO warns that tech and AI stocks face increasing fragility from excessive leverage, signaling investors should shift capital toward energy and materials sectors as markets transition from speculation-driven gains to fundamentals-focused

TISCO Signals Portfolio Shift From Tech to Energy Stocks
30 Jul Khaosod

TISCO ESU cautioned on July 30 that global stock markets are entering a turning point in the second half of 2024. Technology and AI stocks have tightened as investors increasingly use leveraged positions, raising concerns that market fragility could worsen if the Federal Reserve raises interest rates, hiking financing costs. The firm expects investment capital to gradually shift toward fundamental, robust equities, spotlighting energy and materials sectors.

Senior strategist Thanathat Srisawat of TISCO Economic and Strategy Center revealed that TISCO ESU will emphasize diversifying investments away from crowded trades, particularly the semiconductor industry, which has surged dramatically with elevated valuations and volatility. The firm sees energy and materials as attractive sectors, bolstered by a recovering commodity cycle reflected in significant upward revisions to 2024 earnings-per-share estimates. If sector rotation occurs—drawing capital away from concentrated technology and AI holdings—both energy and materials could benefit substantially.

"Global markets faced volatility in the first half from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, energy price swings, and major central banks' dramatic policy tightening," Thanathat said. "While markets recovered multiple times, gains concentrated in technology and semiconductors, clearly reflecting rising speculative behavior." TISCO ESU believes markets are shifting from speculation-driven rallies to periods when investors prioritize earnings quality and fundamentals, making this a critical moment for investors to review asset allocation and prepare for new investment flows.

Research assistant Thanachote Phutthanakij of TISCO ESU noted that a key market signal is not merely rising share prices but surging leverage use—margin lending climbing to record or near-record highs in Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and the U.S., all crucial to global semiconductors. Taiwan's margin loans have already exceeded dot-com bubble levels from 2000, signaling intense speculation, while South Korea's borrowing for investment has jumped over 141% since early 2024, reflecting aggressive retail leverage tactics.

Government Denies Citing Court Order to Delay Social Security Board Election

Government denies using a court order as pretext to delay the Social Security Board election, insisting the postponement stems from the committee's legal duty to review election procedures for compliance with the temporary court ruling.

Government Denies Citing Court Order to Delay Social Security Board Election
30 Jul Khaosod

Deputy Prime Minister's Office Spokesperson Phattarasmi Trongsluaykorn stated on July 30, 2025, that the Labor Ministry never claimed the court ordered an election postponement. However, the court's temporary protective order required the authorized committee to exercise discretionary judgment in reviewing the entire election process to ensure lawful implementation and protect insured persons' rights.

The Central Administrative Court issued only a temporary suspension of voter registration requirements but did not directly order the election cancelled or delayed. The court also did not mandate that the election proceed on September 27, 2025, without any procedural changes.

When a court issues a temporary protective order, state agencies must assess its impact on the entire election process and apply administrative law principles to ensure all procedures comply with legal requirements. Election management encompasses more than just setting a voting date—it includes compiling voter lists, establishing polling stations, printing ballots, allocating budgets, and implementing all relevant criteria.

The spokesperson emphasized that such discretionary use is the authorized committee's legal duty, not compliance with a court order to postpone. Therefore, claims that the Labor Ministry cited the court to delay the election do not reflect the full legal reality.

Under the 2021 Labor Ministry Regulation on standards and procedures for electing employer and insured-person representatives to the Social Security Board, the election committee has authority to extend or shorten election timelines or suspend certain steps when necessary.

If the committee determines that the court order requires reviewing some processes to align voter lists, polling stations, ballots, budgets, and criteria with the court ruling and law, delaying certain steps constitutes exercising powers under the regulation—not using the court order as pretext to cancel the election.

In administrative law, state agencies must ensure all procedures remain lawful. If they proceed without assessing the court order's impact and the court later rules the process unlawful, the election could be voided, affecting over 11 million insured persons and requiring government expenditure on a new election—benefiting no one.

The spokesperson concluded: "The court's temporary protective order requires the authorized committee to review the entire election system for legal compliance. The delay results from the committee's proper exercise of discretionary authority. Once the review is complete, the agency will proceed with the election."

Plus Property Expands Luxury Management Services in Phuket
30 Jul Khaosod

Plus Property sees the property management market continuing to expand from both new real estate projects needing professional oversight and existing projects seeking quality upgrades to stay competitive. The company is aggressively targeting the luxury segment by taking on management of The Standard Phuket, while developing structural engineering, concierge, and smart parking services to build a comprehensive living ecosystem for long-term growth.

On July 30, Plus Property managing director Suwarnnee Mahonrangchai stated that property management continues to grow steadily, enabling the company to maintain revenue and profit targets in the first half of the year. She explained that customer confidence built over 30 years stems from management that preserves project value through building standards, common areas, quality community building, and enhanced living experiences—factors critical to project viability and long-term property value.

Diversifying consumer behavior has made property management increasingly important, particularly among pet owners, seniors, and sustainability-focused residents. Developers establish product quality foundations, while property management companies execute these concepts through services and operations.

In the second half of the year, Plus Property will push further into luxury management by raising staff capabilities through PLUS EDUPLEX, Thailand's first institution authorized to teach CTH (Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality) hospitality curricula. Training will occur in quarters two and three to deliver international-standard service for luxury clients.

The company recently secured management of The Standard Phuket, marking a major milestone in expanding into branded residences and reinforcing its luxury management expertise. It is also growing Touch Property, a building engineering firm that has tripled this year due to demand for building maintenance and improvements, while expanding Plus Concierge networks to enhance residential services.

LIV-24, a subsidiary, is expanding LIV-PARK smart parking after opening its first Donmueang location, with plans for central business district expansion and a parking-finder app launching in quarter three. The company is also exploring non-core business opportunities to drive long-term revenue growth and complete its residential ecosystem.

Currently, Plus Property manages over 440 projects covering more than 100,000 families nationwide, with customer satisfaction exceeding 91% last year, reflecting strong client confidence.

Thailand Targets Mexico Construction Market Amid Industrial Park Expansion

Thailand Targets Mexico Construction Market Amid Industrial Park Expansion
30 Jul Khaosod

Thailand's Commerce Ministry is targeting construction material exports to Mexico, capitalizing on the country's expanding industrial park development. Sunanta Kangwaligulkij, director-general of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Commerce Ministry, announced that she has directed commercial attachés worldwide to accelerate the expansion of Thai goods and services according to Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthummaphan's policy. The ministry recently received a report from Kannika Kakaardi, director of the Trade Promotion Office in Mexico City, on Mexico's construction sector, which shows continuous growth potential and opportunities for Thai construction material exports.

Thai trade officials report that Mexico's construction sector is recovering following infrastructure investments, industrial area development, and expansion of the logistics sector. This growth is driving related businesses including construction, construction materials, machinery, and supporting industries. According to Mexico's National Institute of Statistics (INEGI), industrial activity in Mexico expanded 1.8% year-on-year in April 2026 and grew 2.1% month-on-month, with the construction sector as the primary growth driver, expanding 10.2% annually and 7.6% monthly—outpacing manufacturing's 1.2% growth while mining and utilities continue to slow.

A key factor propelling Mexico's construction sector is the restructuring of supply chains and investment to decentralize manufacturing across North America, driving increased demand for industrial space and production support systems. Mexico's Private Industrial Park Association (AMPIP) plans to develop 128 new industrial parks between 2024 and 2031, valued at approximately $6.2–8.6 billion, to support manufacturing and domestic and foreign investment. These projects include industrial parks, factories, warehouses, distribution centers, commercial buildings, data centers, transportation infrastructure, and energy and utility systems.

The government also supports development through transportation and infrastructure projects, including connection routes, rail systems, ports, and new economic zones, which boost demand for related goods and services such as steel, metal products, construction materials, electrical systems, sanitary fixtures, construction equipment, machinery, air-conditioning systems, automation, and interior finishing. Meanwhile, the private sector increasingly prioritizes energy-efficient construction, cost reduction, and long-term building management, driving demand for value-added materials and technologies.

"Mexico's construction and infrastructure expansion represents an opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs across multiple industries, not only construction material manufacturers but also building decoration producers, electrical system providers, air-conditioning manufacturers, plumbing fixture makers, construction machinery producers, and industrial parts manufacturers," the ministry stated. "Market demand extends beyond new construction projects to system installation, building efficiency upgrades, and industrial area improvements for long-term operational capacity."
