Siam Sirimongkol, Director‑General of the Department of Community Development, said the “Amazing Market of Food, Goods, and Thai Products” project for fiscal year 2026 operates under the “6 CARNIVALS OTOP Amazing” concept, delivering six online sales campaigns from June to November 2026 to expand market opportunities and distribution channels for OTOP operators and village enterprises nationwide, and to facilitate public access to quality products derived from Thai wisdom and craftsmanship via online channels, a key driver of grassroots economic growth. In October, marking the department’s 64th anniversary, the “CDD 64th ANNIVERSARY” campaign invites nationwide participation to support OTOP and community products, offering a variety of quality items—food, beverages, household goods, souvenirs, and local wisdom products—with a special 60% discount, up to 100 baht, when using code OTOP60 for participating products. Participating operators receive special privileges from both platforms, especially Shopee’s special fee rates to reduce costs; interested OTOP operators and village enterprises can inquire at provincial and district community development offices nationwide, and those already enrolled can join subsequent campaign activities until the project ends.

A representative from Shopee Thailand said they are pleased to continue collaborating with the Department of Community Development as the first e‑commerce platform to officially partner in the “Amazing Market of Food, Goods, and Thai Products” project; the six campaigns from June to November 2026 aim to give OTOP operators broader chances to present products and reach consumers online, while making it easier for consumers to purchase quality OTOP goods. For the October “CDD 64TH ANNIVERSARY Celebrating 64 Years of Community Development with Big Deals Nationwide!” campaign, Shopee is ready to join the celebration of the department’s 64th anniversary by supporting quality products from OTOP operators and Thai communities to reach a wider consumer base home through its platform and e‑commerce solutions that enhance visibility and expand the customer base.

Thai Official Calls for ASEAN Financial-Climate Shield

Thai Deputy Finance Minister Santitham Sthiti‑thai warned at the IMF‑World Bank 2026 meeting in Bangkok that Thailand’s reliance on energy imports—nearly 10% of GDP—leaves it vulnerable to global economic shocks. He urged ASEAN to adopt a three‑step ‘support‑transition‑invest’ strategy and to build a regional financial‑climate shield involving data sharing, green standards, and pooled resources. Effective adaptation, he said, also requires knowledge, incentives, and capability, not just funding.

Each year about eight to ten children are injured, with the youngest victim just two years old, and many injuries cannot be reattached despite modern treatment.
