A 77-year-old woman identified as Nangda, who was driving a white Mercedes backwards on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road near Lat Phrao intersection, reported to Vibhavadi Police Station and was informed of three charges: reckless driving, ignoring traffic signs, and additional violations. Police instructed that the vehicle be brought in for examination. The incident was first brought to light after a Facebook page posted dashboard camera footage showing the white Mercedes driving the wrong way in the main lane, with the caption questioning how a luxury car could drive against traffic. Police traced the vehicle owner using CCTV footage and summoned the driver for questioning. On September 8, 2025, Nangda arrived at the station accompanied by her daughter after driving backwards on Vibhavadi Road. She gave a statement to investigators and acknowledged receipt of the three preliminary charges. During her visit to the police station, Nangda wore dark sunglasses and a mask to conceal her face and was reluctant to answer questions. Police instructed relatives to bring the Mercedes to Vibhavadi Police Station for further inspection. According to reports, Nangda is a real estate developer operating a project in the Ratchada area.
