Border Patrol Police Region 3, Unit 327, announced the seizure of a major drug shipment on August 5, 2569, following intelligence gathered on August 4 that a drug trafficking network planned to smuggle large quantities of methamphetamine from the Thai-Myanmar border in Mae Fa Luang District, Chiang Rai, using mountain routes to access Highway 107 in the Mae Jan-Mae Ai corridor. Officers closely monitored the area and spotted a gray Nissan pickup truck with Chiang Rai license plates traveling through Ban Huay Phueng in Tambon Mae Salong Nai, Mae Fa Luang District, heading toward Ban Pha Duea and Phai Mai Utit before descending from the mountains onto Highway 107 near Ban Huay Hin Fon in Tambon Pa Tung, matching intelligence reports.

When officers moved to intercept the vehicle, the driver accelerated and fled toward Pang Sa village in Tambon Pa Tung at high speed. On a sharp curve, the driver lost control and crashed hard into a residential wall, heavily damaging the vehicle's front end. The male driver, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, fled into the forest using his knowledge of the terrain. Officers conducted a follow-up search but have not yet apprehended him.

Police searched the abandoned truck and found ten sacks of straw containing methamphetamine, approximately 200,000 pills per sack, totaling around two million pills. The drugs were seized as evidence and turned over to investigators for legal proceedings. Officers are expanding their investigation to track down the fleeing suspect and identify other members of the smuggling network.
