Legendary Thai boxer Bua Khao Banchamek is advocating for a young woman severely injured in a glass attack in Khon Kaen. The victim suffered nerve damage, lost facial control, and faces significant physical and psychological trauma.

Legendary Thai boxer Bua Khao Banchamek has stepped in to follow up on the case of a young woman attacked and injured by a man who refuses to take responsibility and claims connections to influential figures. Bua Khao insists the matter must proceed according to law and vows to pursue it to the end.

At 2:30 PM on October 23, 2026, media reported that social media across Khon Kaen province had circulated photos and a post from Facebook user Tung Ao showing severe facial wounds. The victim stated she was attacked by a stranger using a glass, leaving her with deep left facial injuries, nerve damage, and facial control issues. After a month of hospitalization at her own expense, she has received no apology or compensation, and her mental health has deteriorated, forcing her to take leave from work.

Reporters later met with Police Lieutenant Sombat Banchamek, known as "Bua Khao Banchamek," a legendary Thai boxer. He said the woman is an acquaintance from his social circle who had dined with the group. The incident occurred about a month ago. Initially, the other party said they would cover damages, medical bills, and expenses, but went silent. When the victim presented receipts and medical details, they were refused and told to take it to court.

The victim's injuries are severe: a deep facial wound nearly reaching the bone, severed nerves, and a swollen eye. She currently has almost no control of her face and mouth, drools when eating, and must cover her face when going out. Once cheerful and helpful, she now feels unable to do things as before and suffers significant psychological impact.

Bua Khao added he learned the other party has connections to influential or wealthy figures with local power, which made people hesitant to speak up or act. But he believes the case must be based on truth, not on who has influence. He is stepping in to protect the victim's rights because the incident has devastated a life and may not be settled out of court.

"Once I gave my word to help, I will pursue the case, including the investigation by officials into witnesses, evidence, and details at the restaurant where the victim was dining, so the full story is known. I also ask social media to keep following this," he said. However, he has not yet met the other party and has only spoken with the victim. Recently, the other party appeared for mediation and demanded the other side accept responsibility before local officials, but no agreement was reached.

Bua Khao said the victim initially asked only to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to restore her face, wanting to return to a normal, confident life. But after her requests were denied, he advised her to pursue full accountability. He urges the other party to step forward and take responsibility or comment on the incident, because acting like a big shot with money or power helps nothing — this must proceed under the law.

Black Chin Tilapia Swarm Ratchaburi Canals After Floods

Severe flooding in Ratchaburi has accelerated the spread of invasive black chin tilapia throughout the province's canal network, with villagers catching them in large numbers while fishing. Experts say the fast-breeding species — which reproduces every 22 days and tolerates polluted water — has now colonized all waterways, making eradication impossible. Authorities and the Thai Aquaculture Association are urging a shift toward developing food processing industries to manage the population and create livelihoods.
