Chery Reaches 20,000 EV Units in Thailand in Just 5 Months

Chery Group celebrates the production of 20,000 electric vehicles in Thailand, showcasing manufacturing capabilities and consumer confidence while reaffirming its long-term commitment to the country. Cedric Sui, president of Chery Group Thailand, stated: "Completing assembly of 20,000 vehicles at our new energy vehicle manufacturing plant in Rayong is a source of great pride for Chery Group. This milestone reflects our strong production foundation and represents a key part of our long-term investment strategy in Thailand. It also demonstrates the confidence that Thai consumers, business partners, and the government have consistently placed in Chery Group vehicles. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to continuously support and drive the electric vehicle industry in Thailand over the long term."

"This success would not have been possible without our Thai employees and all team members involved—from engineering to quality control to production line staff—who have devoted themselves since the start of production operations to jointly establish quality work standards at every step. They have enabled us to produce 20,000 quality vehicles in just five months," Sui added. Chery Group's new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturing plant is located in Nikhom Pattana District, Rayong Province, and officially began production operations in April 2025. The facility currently produces four models across the Omoda & Jaecoo and Chery brands: Omoda C5 EV, Jaecoo 5 EV, Jaecoo 6 EV, and Chery V23.

To meet growing domestic demand and support future exports, Chery Group plans to add additional production lines for other models from brands including Lepton, iCAUR, and Luxeed, as well as Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology.

Chery Group is also constructing a proving ground covering more than 40,000 square meters within the plant facility to test vehicles on simulated roads resembling real-world conditions as closely as possible before delivery. The facility will feature diverse specialized test routes, including durability tests on washboard and gravel roads, handling and braking control tests on winding roads and ABS systems, high-speed driving tests on straightaways, and specialized areas such as water fording tests and steep slope climbing tests. The facility can also accommodate parking and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) for up to 350 vehicles, strengthening quality control confidence for Chery Group's operations in Thailand.

This milestone celebration forms part of Chery Group's long-term strategy to support and sustainably drive Thailand's new energy vehicle industry, support domestic component sourcing, develop Thai personnel capabilities, and facilitate knowledge transfer in technology.
