Concert Organizers Ordered to Offer Full Refunds After VIP Stage Collapse
A VIP stage collapse at an Asani-Wasant concert in Bangkok on September 2 prompted authorities to order full refunds for ticketholders unable to attend the rescheduled September 9 performance, with refunds processed through Thai Ticket Majo
On September 3, Deputy Prime Minister Suphamas Isarabhakdi, in her capacity as supervisor of the Consumer Protection Board, addressed the structural failure in the VIP seating area during the Asani-Wasant farewell concert at Impact Arena in Muang Thong Thani on September 2. The organizer halted the performance and rescheduled it for September 9. Isarabhakdi instructed the Consumer Protection Board to urgently coordinate with Nee Krung Connect, the event organizer, and Thai Ticket Major, the ticket vendor, to address consumer impacts and establish compensation measures. Ticket holders from the September 2 show who cannot attend the September 9 rescheduled performance may request full refunds through Thai Ticket Major at all branches, via email at CS@THAITICKETMAJOR.COM, or by calling 02-262-3456. Those who paid by credit card will receive refunds within two billing cycles, while those who paid in cash or by transfer will receive refunds within 15 business days from when the company receives complete bank details.
Ticket holders who wish to attend may shift to shows on September 3, 5, 6, or 8, with VIP seating provided for 30 foreign attendees requesting September 3, and eight standing ticket requests fulfilled by the organizer. Additional expenses incurred due to the postponement—such as accommodation, airfare, taxi fares, or travel changes—may be claimed to the Consumer Protection Board with supporting documentation for individual consideration. Those unable to contact Thai Ticket Major or the organizer directly may file with the Consumer Protection Board. Consumers dissatisfied with compensation or not fully covered may lodge complaints via the OCPB hotline 1166, the OCPB Connect app, the website www.ocpb.go.th, or provincial Ombudsman offices.
