Construction Worker Stabs Colleague to Death in Phatthalung Drinking Row

Phatthalung — Two construction site coworkers were drinking together when a verbal dispute escalated, leading one to grab a knife and stab the other to death. Alcohol turned close friends into enemies.

October 28, 2026 — Police Lieutenant Colonel Kraisorn Luean Nuan Khap, investigator at Pa Phayom Police Station, Phatthalung, along with forensic officers from Phatthalung and Police Lieutenant Colonel Akkhaphong Koet Kaew, Region 9 Investigation Division, responded to a report that construction workers had stabbed each other with a knife, resulting in a death after being taken to hospital.

At the scene, a rented house in Moo 3, Ban Phrao Subdistrict, Pa Phayom District, Phatthalung, officers found only bloodstains and collected evidence. Preliminary investigation revealed that before the incident, the deceased, Mr. Phloen, had been drinking with Mr. Cholor, a fellow construction worker who lived at the house. While drinking, the two argued about construction work. The perpetrator, Mr. Cholor, used a 6-inch pointed knife to stab Mr. Phloen once in the chest, then fled.

The victim's wife, aged 46, called police and an ambulance from Pa Phayom Hospital, which transferred him to Phatthalung Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the morning of October 28, 2026.

The wife said the two were normally friends who worked construction together at the same site and had never quarreled before. But that day, while drinking together, a verbal dispute arose, causing the perpetrator to become dissatisfied and stab her husband once in the chest with a pointed knife. Her husband could not survive the wound.

She added that their employer had rented the house for workers to stay in, divided between two families — her family in the front, the perpetrator's family in the back. They were close, but she does not know what sparked the incident.

Most recently, the perpetrator's relatives have coordinated with Pa Phayom Police to arrange his surrender.
