A cosmetic clinic in Phatthalung province is defending itself against patient complaints after nose thread-lifting procedures allegedly caused inflammation and raised questions about the materials used. The clinic owner, a licensed physician known as Dr. Champion, produced documentation confirming his registration with the Medical Council since 2559 and denied being an unlicensed practitioner. He stated that the material used is medical-grade dissolvable thread sourced from a properly registered importer, not fishing line, and comes in two types: purple thread that dissolves in about one year and white thread that dissolves over 2-4 years.
Dr. Champion explained that one patient developed nasal inflammation after the procedure, believed to have thread protruding, and attempted to remove it herself with nail clippers. Upon inspection, no thread was found, and the inflammation was treated with medication. When the patient later requested thread removal, the doctor stated no thread was visible and recommended she see a surgical specialist, offering to cover treatment costs—reportedly already sending three invoices totaling several tens of thousands of baht. A second complainant visited without inflammation but requested thread removal, which was not performed, and has not returned until the story broke.
Regarding the clinic's licensing, Dr. Champion acknowledged receiving the operating permit only on September 17, 2569, after multiple previous applications that required corrections involving advertising, location, and noise issues. He reiterated that the clinic uses approved medical materials, operates legally, and is prepared to take responsibility if any harm is found to result from its services.
