Crews Clear Tons of Trash from Bang Saen Beach
Several tons of trash washed up on Bang Saen Beach after floodwaters were drained into the sea from nearby areas. Municipal crews have been using tractors and trucks to clear the debris since early morning, while officials assure tourists that the seawater remains clean and safe for swimming.
Saensuk Municipality deployed staff with tractors and trucks to clear several tons of trash strewn across Bang Saen Beach after floodwaters were discharged into the sea. At 4:30 p.m. on October 1, 2026, municipal officers gathered to clean large amounts of debris washed ashore by waves along the shoreline, estimated to total several tons. They used tractors and six-wheel trucks to collect and haul the trash away quickly, preparing the area for incoming tourists. Ms. Nantaphap, a beachfront clothing vendor, said that recent flooding in Chonburi prompted the release of freshwater into the sea, carrying trash that was then driven back onto the shore by monsoon rains, strong winds, and waves. Municipal workers have been cleaning the beach since about 5 a.m., continuing into the evening due to the large volume and widespread distribution of trash, requiring both manpower and machinery. She urged visitors that despite the trash being washed ashore, cleanup efforts are ongoing, the seawater is not polluted, and swimming remains safe and normal, noting that Bang Saen has not been affected by the floods.
