The Culture Ministry awarded winners of a nationwide youth video contest promoting moral communities based on Buddhist principles and Thai values, with champions selected across junior secondary, senior secondary, and higher education categ
On Monday, August 31, 2026, the Department of Religious Affairs held an awards ceremony for a youth media production competition themed 'My Moral Community' for fiscal year 2026, with Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, presiding and Department of Religious Affairs Director Chaiyapol Sukkiam attending at S Ratchada Leecher Hotel in Bangkok.
Riangngern stated that the competition is part of the 'Moral NextGen Model' project, which encourages children and youth to recognize the importance of community and advance moral society through creative media production. The initiative is based on five moral principles—sufficiency, discipline, integrity, volunteerism, and gratitude—coupled with three dimensions: religious teachings, sufficiency economy philosophy, and Thai cultural values, consistent with the second phase of the national moral promotion action plan (2023–2027).
The Department of Religious Affairs invited young people nationwide to create short video clips showcasing moral communities from a new generation perspective, fostering critical thinking, analysis, design, and presentation of socially meaningful content to inspire wider positive action.
The ceremony featured performances, documentary screening, and trophy and cash awards in four categories: junior secondary school, senior secondary school, higher education, and Top Views (most viewed).
Junior secondary winners: Champion—'Treasures of Grandfather at Lamthai Village: Sufficiency Community in Concrete Forest' by P.K. Station Film 1 from Prakhanongphitthayalai School, Bangkok; First Runner-up—'Chewa' by Seed of Virtue on Mountain Peak from Rajprachanukhro 45 School, Kanchanaburi; Second Runner-up—'Dance with Heart at Dong Maenang Muang' by Bamboo Studio from Wat Ban Phai School, Nakhon Sawan.
Senior secondary winners: Champion—'Outside the Frame' by Comarts Prakan from Samuthprakarn School; First Runner-up—'O Mue Choe Per Pha Yoe Style' by The Ber Studio from Chulalongkorn Rakwittayakom School, Mae Hong Son; Second Runner-up—'Sweat Drops for Water Drops' by TCS Studio 1 from Thung Chang School, Nan.
Higher education winners: Champion—'Hope' by Siam Security from Suan Dusit University's Faculty of Management, Bangkok; First Runner-up—'New Shoes, Same Heart' by Ton Sai Bai Bodhi from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University's Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai; Second Runner-up—'Small Light Along the Way' by Light This Way from Southeast Bangkok University's Faculty of Accounting and Management, Bangkok.
