Driver Sentenced for Reckless Lane Change on Bangkok Highway
A Bangkok driver was sentenced to two months in prison and fined 12,000 baht for reckless lane changes on Vibhavadi Road near Don Mueang Airport in August, while on probation from a previous drunk driving conviction.
A white Fortuner driver was captured on video speeding and making a sudden lane change without signaling before braking sharply on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road near Don Mueang Airport on August 30. Vibhavadi Police tracked down the driver, identified as Adisak, who confessed to all charges. The incident occurred while Adisak was on suspended sentence from a previous April conviction for drunk driving that caused injury to another person.
On September 11, Don Mueang District Court found Adisak guilty of operating a vehicle in a manner showing disregard for the safety of others. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment and fined 12,000 baht, with a further two-year suspended sentence. Police also processed additional violations including reckless driving, operating an unlicensed vehicle that had been deregistered, and failing to display tax payment stickers. The vehicle used in the incident has been repossessed by a finance company.
