On the evening of July 20, police responded to a pickup truck collision with a motorcycle near a petrol station in Na Khruea subdistrict, Mae Tha district, Lampang. Officers found a gray Isuzu pickup truck heavily damaged on the roadside, with a white Honda motorcycle overturned nearby, its parts scattered across the road. The body of a 14-year-old female student, identified as A (pseudonym), a Grade 8 student wearing her school uniform, was found near the motorcycle with severe trauma and multiple fractures. The driver, a 63-year-old ex-school principal, was tested and found to have a blood alcohol level of 171 milligrams per cent. He was charged with drunk driving and causing death by reckless driving. Police cordoned off the scene, collected evidence, documented the crash site, and transferred the victim's body to Lampang Hospital's forensic department for detailed autopsy before returning her to her family for religious funeral rites.
