Father Accidentally Runs Over Toddler Daughter With Truck in Samut Prakan
A father in Samut Prakan accidentally ran over and killed his 2-year-old daughter with his truck on Nov. 3 after
At 12:30 p.m. on November 3, 2026, Police Lieutenant Anuchit Khaodeek, deputy inspector of Klong Dan Police Station, received a report of a truck running over a 2-year-old girl in the Keha Villa community, Bang Phriang subdistrict, Bang Bo district, Samut Prakan province. Officers and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers rushed to the scene.
They found the girl's mother and grandmother grief-stricken, clutching the child's body. The four-wheel jumbo truck had crushed the toddler's head and face, killing her instantly. Blood stains and accident marks were scattered on the road in front of the rental room, with blood on the truck's right rear wheel. Police documented the scene, collected evidence, and drew a site map.
The father, 22-year-old Ekasit, was in shock. He worked as a hired truck driver and had returned to the rental room to visit his daughter. When she saw him, she ran out happily. He parked, got down to play with her, then told her he would drive to the parking lot and walk back, asking her to wait by the room. He drove off, unaware she had run after the truck.
Seconds later, he felt the wheel hit something, thinking it was a rock. Looking in the side mirror, he was horrified to see it was his daughter. He stopped immediately but she had already died.
The mother, 24-year-old Ketsakon, said her daughter usually stayed with her in the room. When the girl learned her father had returned from work, she ran out to him. She confirmed she was not asleep and never imagined her daughter would chase the truck.
Investigators logged the incident, gathered witness statements, and summoned both parents to Klong Dan Police Station for further questioning. The child's body was sent to the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for autopsy.
The tragedy serves as a grim reminder for families with young children, especially drivers of large vehicles with blind spots. Before moving, drivers must check all around the vehicle for children, and parents must supervise toddlers closely — accidents happen in seconds and cause irreversible loss.
