Female Student Dupes Friend in Fake Or Bor Tor Procurement

Police in Pathum Thani arrested a 21‑year‑old university student for allegedly swindling her close friend out of over 350,000 baht through a fake subdistrict‑organisational procurement investment scheme. She purportedly showed forged Or Bor Tor checks to gain trust and claimed the money was only a loan. The suspect now faces charges of fraudulent computer data entry and fraud.

According to the police report, the suspect, who had previously assisted with work at a subdistrict administrative organisation in Chanthaburi and is currently studying at a prominent university in Pathum Thani, used a LINE chat to invite her neighbour and fellow student to join a supposed investment in procurement projects for the local Or Bor Tor. She promised high returns, prompting the victim to transfer an initial 90,000 baht. When the promised repayment date passed, she sent a picture of an Or Bor Tor check to appear legitimate and persuaded the victim to send additional funds, eventually totalling 351,000 baht. Subsequent examination revealed the check image was an old check that had been reused to deceive the victim, leading to a complaint filed at Khlong Luang Police Station. Acting on orders from Provincial Police Commissioner Phatthanakorn Bubphasuwan, officers from Provincial Police Region 1 arrested Ms. A at the lower floor of a condominium in Thaprahat subdistrict, Thanyaburi, Pathum Thani. During interrogation she denied all allegations, insisting the money was only a loan, and was handed over to investigators at Khlong Luang Police Station for further legal proceedings.
