A garbage truck struck and killed a sanitation worker at the Namchai landfill in Muang District, Chachoengsao Province, on July 31 at 3:30 p.m. Police from Muang Chachoengsao Station, along with a forensic doctor from Putthasoothon Hospital and rescue personnel, responded to the scene and found an orange municipal garbage truck from Bang Praing Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, parked at the landfill with its rear bed raised. The victim, 66-year-old Aeknok, a sanitation worker employed by Bang Praing Municipality, was found crushed beneath the rear wheels with severe abrasions to his hip and abdomen. The truck driver, 56-year-old Mongkol, stated that he did not see the victim behind the truck while driving and believed the man had fallen and rolled under the wheels while attempting to remove debris caught on the truck's metal frame. Mongkol said he only realized what happened when he heard screams and stopped to investigate, finding his colleague in distress before he succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary police findings indicated the driver's account did not fully match the incident, prompting them to question additional witnesses. A 21-year-old backhoe operator working nearby stated that he heard the victim cry out and saw him already crushed under the rear wheels. The witness suggested that when the garbage truck turned, the driver may not have seen the victim standing beside the vehicle, and it was possible the victim's long-sleeved shirt caught on the truck, causing him to lose his balance and fall before being run over. After the investigation, the victim's daughter arrived from Bang Pakong District and wept upon seeing her father's body. The truck driver embraced her in an attempt to comfort her amid the somber atmosphere. The family expressed no dissatisfaction with the cause of death, believing it to be an accident.

Police Region 2 Commander Chatchai Surachetpong revealed that three more bodies—a family of parents and child—were buried near two Russian siblings, separated by opposite sides of a road. The suspects posed as police officers, forcibly robbed the family, handcuffed the parents, and when the daughter returned from work at a convenience store, they detained all three. The victims were then killed and buried. Authorities arrested Thana (Pong), 43, and Thongchai (Thong), 39, on Pattaya court warrants for armed nighttime theft with vehicles or receipt of stolen goods. The crimes followed the disappearance of a black-gray Honda ADV 150 motorcycle belonging to two Russian siblings on July 26 in Wang Sombun district, Sa Kaew. After arrest, Thana confessed to shooting the brother twice and fatally assaulting the sister before burying their bodies in Chachoengsao province because they resisted the motorcycle theft. Officers escorted him to the burial sites and exhumed the two siblings' remains.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatchai Surachetpong, Region 2 commander, later disclosed that the two Russian siblings' bodies showed minimal decomposition. Both remained clothed; the brother bore two gunshot wounds, and the sister showed no signs of sexual assault, consistent with Thana's statement that robbery was the sole motive. His initial cooperation was deemed beneficial to the case.

Regarding the disappearance of the three-person family reported by relatives to Huai Yai Police on July 7, 2569, the family vanished on June 27, 2569, at 3:39 p.m. along with a Chevrolet vehicle. Region 2 revealed that four suspects posed as police officers, stormed the house seeking robbery, handcuffed the parents, and detained the daughter when she returned from her convenience store job. All three were transported away, tortured to death, and buried in a forest opposite the burial site of the Russian siblings across the road. Initial charges include armed nighttime theft with vehicles or receipt of stolen goods and impersonation of officers, with additional charges pending.

Police have revealed that suspects Pong and Thang, accused of murdering two Russian brothers, habitually impersonated police officers during their crimes. On the day of the incident, they posed as officers to stop the Russians for questioning before carrying out the attack. The two Russian siblings disappeared from Huai Yai District in Chachoengsao Province, sparking a major investigation. Authorities later arrested the suspects in Sa Kaew Province. Both confessed to murdering the Russian brothers to steal their motorcycle and concealed the bodies in Sak Ngaew Forest in Huai Yai District. Police interrogated Pong and Thang at Huai Yai Police Station for over an hour before taking them to the burial site for evidence collection. Investigators determined that the suspects regularly wore police-style uniforms when committing crimes. On the day of the incident, they spotted the two Russians riding a motorcycle, called them over for inspection, and then launched the fatal attack.

On July 31, 2026, Deputy Secretary-General Natthriya Thueiwongse of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports opened the "Move Together Day: CCC Festival" at Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok's Pathumwan district, announcing the launch of CCC Phase 3 as a national big data platform for exercise. The platform will integrate exercise and sports data from the public to provide evidence-based insights for formulating precise health and sports policies that better serve the needs of Thai citizens.

Thueiwongse stated that the ministry prioritizes encouraging consistent exercise and sports participation by leveraging technology and data as motivational tools, aligned with modern digital lifestyles. CCC serves as a crucial mechanism connecting citizens, government, private sector, and health networks.

"CCC is no longer just a fitness tracking app. We are developing it into a central platform that harnesses data for both public benefit and government policy management. Our core goal is to increase exercise participation among Thai people and make it a daily habit," Thueiwongse said.

Phase 3 of CCC development aims to integrate data from multiple applications and relevant agencies to analyze exercise behavior patterns across regions, age groups, and target populations. This data will enable the government to design policies, measures, and promotional activities tailored to specific groups' needs and behaviors.

A redesigned CCC application featuring improved usability and diverse workout challenges and activities has also been launched to make exercise more accessible and engaging. Additionally, a "CCC Community" platform has been created to connect health-conscious individuals nationwide, facilitating experience sharing, activity creation, and collaborative exercise participation to build a broader "exercise culture" across society.

Thueiwongse emphasized that the CCC initiative aligns with the ministry's role in advancing the national strategy, with a key target of ensuring 50% of Thai people exercise or play sports regularly by 2027. Achieving this goal requires coordinated effort from technology, data analytics, motivation systems, and collaboration among government, private sector, communities, and citizens.

The "Move Together Day: CCC Festival" serves not only as the launch of Phase 3 but also as a platform to translate the "Move Together" concept into action, offering the public and health networks opportunities to test new features, learn, share experiences, and collectively foster an exercise culture.
