Flood Relief Funds Transferred to Over 10,000 Thai Households Oct 9
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation will transfer over 94 million baht in flood relief to more than 10,000 households on October 9, with payments already processed for 10,453 verified families in Sa Kaeo and Samut Prakan provinces. The agency said renters can use their rented house number to apply, and multi‑unit buildings will be compensated per unit, while additional provinces such as Samut Songkhram have been added to the assistance program.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation announced that flood relief money will be transferred on October 9, with 10,453 households receiving the payment right away and a total budget of more than 94 million baht. Speaking at 10:00 a.m. on October 7, 2026 at Government House, DPM Public Relations Director Sirithorn Samsuwan said the agency, acting on the Prime Minister’s directive and a cabinet resolution, has accelerated coordination with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and provincial governors across the country to send impact data for rapid payout within the week. The latest data compiled by DPM and forwarded to the Government Savings Bank covers 14,053 verified households, amounting to over 94 million baht, including 5,742 households in Sa Kaeo province and 4,100 in Samut Prakan. Those households will see the funds deposited into their accounts Friday morning, October 9.
The agency also reported that, through the “Thang Rat” mobile application, 1,305,875 households have registered in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Chachoengsao and Nonthaburi, with payments scheduled for the same date. Some accounts may require an additional two days before the money arrives because banks need to verify details when a 13‑digit ID is not linked to PromptPay or when the account shows no recent activity.
DPM said new applications continue to arrive and it will keep working with local authorities to verify information and forward data to the Government Savings Bank for the next batch of transfers as quickly as possible. According to a cabinet resolution, Samut Songkhram province has been added to the rain‑season relief program, offering 7,000 to 9,000 baht per household from the 2026 central budget, and residents there are urged to register promptly via the Thang Rat app.
Regarding renters who do not know their house registration number, DPM clarified that they may enter the actual rented house number in the system. For large houses divided into multiple rental units sharing a single house number, local officials and Bangkok officials will inspect each unit to confirm occupancy and damage, ensuring every tenant receives compensation under the same criteria.
For further questions on registration or assistance, the public can call the DPM safety hotline at 1784, available 24 hours a day.
