On October 3, 2026, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) announced progress on flood relief payments approved by the Cabinet on September 29, 2026, outlining four assistance categories. Households flooded for up to seven days with property damage receive 9,000 baht; those flooded continuously for more than seven days also receive 9,000 baht; households isolated by floodwaters affecting normal life for over seven days receive 5,000 baht; and residents of high-rise buildings where water does not reach their floor but normal life is disrupted for over seven days receive 5,000 baht. Additionally, a funeral allowance of 2,000,000 baht is provided for victims of landslides and floods. Eligible applicants must reside in areas declared disaster zones and emergency assistance zones between May 15 and September 30, covering 65 provinces and Bangkok. The DDPM, the Digital Government Agency (DGA), and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration opened registration through the 'Thang Rat' app starting October 2, with Bangkok districts rolling out registration from 8:00 a.m.; early technical glitches caused some users to see 'address not within assistance zone', but the system automatically updates as registration opens area-by-area. As of October 3 at 1:30 p.m., 702,217 applications have been submitted, led by Bangkok (343,545), Samut Prakan (95,450), and Pathum Thani (83,482). The DDPM will coordinate with provincial authorities and Bangkok to expedite relief distribution.
