Floods Force Villagers to Use Boats for Food Aid
Severe flooding in Bang Khla, Chachoengsao has cut off regular roads, forcing villagers to use rowboats to ferry food supplies to a community kitchen. The detour via irrigation canals and river crossings is time‑consuming, creating challenges in providing daily meals to residents. Despite the difficulties, locals continue to help each other by paddling out to collect food.
According to a report dated October 7, 2069 (2026 in the Gregorian calendar), floodwaters in Bang Khla continue to worsen, especially in Huai Sai and Bang Ka Jed subdistricts, rendering many roads impassable for small vehicles. Villagers, including 48‑year‑old Sai Rueang from Bang Krasot, say they now transport food supplies by car to the irrigation canal road, then load them onto rowboats to cross the river to Wat Bang Krasot and onward to the village head’s house where the community kitchen operates. The process is time‑consuming, making daily meal preparation difficult despite villagers helping each other by rowing out to collect food.
