Garden Worker, 66, Brutally Killed in Chiang Mai Rice Field
A 66-year-old garden worker was found dead in a Chiang Mai rice field on September 24 after being struck with a rock and dragged into the mud; police are investigating the brutal killing near Ban Pa Ji Wang Daeng.
On September 24, officers from Mae Taeng Police Station responded to a report of a murder in a rice field near Ban Pa Ji Wang Daeng, Muang Kaen District, Chiang Mai. At the scene, they found a male body face-down with his head submerged in the mud. The victim bore signs of blunt-force trauma to the head and lacerations to the face. A bloody rock and blood stains were found on the concrete road nearby.
Initial findings suggest the man was struck on the head with a stone, had his face cut, was dragged into the rice field, and then had his head stomped into the earth to ensure death before the attacker fled. The victim was identified as a 66-year-old from another province hired to work as a garden caretaker in the area. He was described as a kind-hearted person. His employer has already cooperated with police as investigators work to determine the motive and locate the suspect.
