Gourmet Market Launches Chinese Ghost Month Worship Sets

Gourmet Market is launching a complete shopping experience for the Chinese Ghost Month festival, which falls on Thursday, August 27, 2025. Under the concept of "Complete Ghost Month Day Sets," the retailer is offering ancestor worship packages in five main configurations designed for families across all generations, emphasizing the meaningful cultural values of the Chinese Ghost Month festival. These sets enable families to prepare high-quality offerings that express gratitude to deceased ancestors and invite good fortune back to the household.

For families conducting full traditional ceremonies, Gourmet Market recommends the S-Pure "Triple Treasure" set featuring three auspicious meats: boiled chicken symbolizing progress and diligence, braised pork belly representing abundance and prosperity, and roasted duck signifying career advancement. Additional options include large-size Chinese dessert sets with items such as savory taro pastries, melon cakes, and sticky rice cakes—all symbols of sweetness and life's abundance—and a large fruit set containing five auspicious fruits including mandarin oranges, seedless red grapes, Chinese Fuji apples, fragrant bananas, and honey-scented pineapples, representing good luck and prosperity throughout the year.

For younger generations and smaller households with limited space, Gourmet Market has designed convenient, value-focused sets. The "Quick Ghost Month" set combines all savory and sweet items, auspicious fruits, and ritual papers in one box, including melon cakes, taro pastries, sticky rice cakes, boiled chicken, braised pork belly, steamed white grouper seafood, auspicious fruits, and ritual papers—covering all blessings related to work, abundance, health, and smooth living.

Additional offerings include ancestor paper sets containing spirit money, paper clothing, household goods, and even paper passports and airplane tickets to provide necessities to ancestors in the afterlife. Members can also select from a wide variety of offerings including steamed bamboo clam, squid, pastries, and other items. M Card members receive a 100-baht discount when redeeming 400 M Points through the M Card Application on purchases of 1,000 baht or more per receipt during the promotion at Gourmet Market.
