GSB to Disburse 10.5 Billion Baht in Flood Relief
The Government Savings Bank is set to distribute a new tranche of flood relief funds totaling over 10.5 billion baht following cabinet approval. The bank will transfer payments continuously to eligible victims listed by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, urging recipients to verify their PromptPay registration linked to their national ID. As of mid-October, GSB has already disbursed over 5.2 billion baht to nearly 700,000 households.
GSB President Songpol Chiwapanyaroj announced that the cabinet approved an additional flood relief budget framework of over 10.5 billion baht on October 20, 2026. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has transferred this budget to GSB, which is ready to begin disbursing funds to eligible victims listed by the DDPM continuously, including on public holidays. The bank requests that people awaiting relief verify their PromptPay accounts linked to their 13-digit national ID at their servicing bank to receive assistance immediately. Previously, GSB has continuously transferred relief payments according to recipient lists and allocated budgets. As of October 19, 2026, the bank has successfully transferred funds to over 691,463 households totaling over 5.289 billion baht, and continues close coordination with the DDPM to deliver aid to the public as quickly as possible.
