Heavy Rain Floods Don Mueang Airport Taxiway
Heavy rains flooded Don Mueang Airport's southern taxiway, forcing authorities to divert aircraft and pump water continuously, though flights continued operating normally despite traffic disruptions around the airport.
Heavy rain throughout the day has flooded part of the southern taxiway at Don Mueang Airport, according to Phiboj Chayaphiwut, Deputy Director of Don Mueang Airport. The airport has notified airlines to avoid the affected section and mobilized staff to pump water around the clock. However, drainage efforts have been hampered because Bangkok has not reduced water levels in the surrounding canals—Bang Bua, Canal 2, and Prempraja. Despite the flooding, aircraft continue to operate normally with no schedule changes or flight delays, though passengers are requested to arrive early as road traffic around the airport has been disrupted by the flooding situation.
