Hotel Worker Robbed After Motorbike Rammed in Udon Thani

A hotel worker in Udon Thani was rammed off her motorcycle by an assailant, dragged into nearby bushes, bound with rope and a belt, and threatened for money. She escaped during a moment of inattention and was rescued by a passing motorist.

On September 13, Udon Thani City Police Station received a report of a robbery with assault in a wooded area along the Ban Chan to Ban Tat road in Muang District, Udon Thani. Officers Chakrapong Tom Tum and Wittayasiri Thep responded to the scene and found a 41-year-old woman, Phen, in shock with visible injuries. She reported that at approximately 5:30 a.m., while riding her motorcycle to work at a hotel, a man on a gray Honda Wave motorcycle with an unknown license plate pulled up from behind and rammed her bike, causing her to crash.

The assailant, described as a thin man in his early 20s wearing a black hooded jacket, dragged her into the bushes. He covered her mouth, bound her left leg with rope, and fastened her wrists with a belt while threatening her and demanding money. During the assault, her belt came loose as she resisted. When the attacker briefly lost focus, she broke free, ran from the woods, and hailed a passing driver who took her to work before she called police. The suspect fled on his motorcycle.

After Police Lieutenant Colonel Pattanawong Chan Phon, station commander, was notified, he ordered officers to investigate, accompany the victim to the scene, and track the suspect's escape route. Police are collecting evidence and reviewing security camera footage along the suspected escape path.
