Human Remains Found in Dense Forest Near Bo Thong

Chachoengsao — A 56-year-old man contracted to clear overgrown grassland was shocked to discover human skeletal remains scattered throughout a dense forest. Police are rushing to identify the deceased and investigate the cause of death to unravel the mystery of the case.
On September 6, officers from Bo Thong Police Station and emergency rescue personnel from the Sang Hae Bang Tung Hiang unit received a report from residents about human skeletal remains found deep in a forest in Kaset Suwannaphum subdistrict, Bo Thong district, Chachoengsao province. Officers immediately responded and found the area to be densely forested. They discovered bone fragments scattered across the grass at multiple locations and conducted an extensive search for additional pieces in the surrounding area. Clothing believed to belong to the deceased was also found at the scene.
Upon questioning, Vannsri Kaenjun, 56, the local resident who discovered the remains, explained that he had been hired by the landowner to clear grass and prepare the overgrown area. While cutting and walking deeper into the forest toward the site, he noticed something resembling bone fragments. Upon closer inspection, he discovered what appeared to be a human skull and was greatly alarmed. After composing himself, he immediately reported the finding to police.
When officers conducted a detailed examination, they confirmed bone fragments were indeed scattered across multiple locations. Police initially collected all skeletal pieces, clothing, and related items as evidence for forensic examination to identify the deceased. Investigators also cross-referenced missing persons reports from the area and nearby regions to contact relatives for identification purposes. Officers will accelerate the identification process and investigate the cause and timeframe of death to resolve the mystery of these remains found in the forest.
