Jazz Janewattananond Leads Thai Charge at Macau Golf Open
Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond will headline the SJM Macau Open 2026 in October, competing alongside Australian leader Travis Smith and rising Chinese star Ting Wenyi for a $1 million prize pool at Macau Golf and Country Club.
Jazz Janewattananond, Thailand's top golfer, has confirmed his participation in the Asian Tour's SJM Macau Open 2026, competing for a 1 million US dollar prize pool at Macau Golf and Country Club in October. He will be joined by Travis Smith, an Australian pro in excellent form who leads the Asian Tour Order of Merit, and Ting Wenyi, a 21-year-old rising star from China.
The tournament, organized by Macau's Sports Bureau, SJM Resorts, IMG, the Asian Tour, and the Macau Golf Association, will run from October 15-18 and attract world-class talent including Henrik Stenson, a major champion from Sweden, South Korea's two-time PGA Tour winner Im Sung-jae, and former champion Dominic Foos of Germany.
Janewattananond, 30, has competed on the Asian Tour for 16 years, winning 11 professional titles including seven Asian Tour championships and reaching a world ranking of 38. He last competed at the Macau Open in 2024 and praised the event's well-maintained course, scenic beauty, and warm reception from fans and organizers.
Ting Wenyi, 21, will return for her second appearance after finishing third last year. She turned professional two years ago following victories at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in 2024 and the US Junior Amateur in 2022.
Travis Smith, 31, is defending a stellar form this year with two titles already and will be making his debut at the Macau Open, seeking to maintain his leading position in the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
