Authorities have set up evacuation centres and are distributing thousands of meal boxes daily to displaced residents.
Severe flooding along the Khwae Noi River continues to affect Kanchanaburi, especially in Ban Don Yang and Wang Yen subdistricts. In Ban Don Yang, over 100 fish cages have been damaged, with many swept away, causing losses in the hundreds of thousands of baht for farmers like Samruay. In Wang Yen, seven villages and more than 300 households have been inundated; two major bridges are submerged over one metre deep, cutting off passage. Residents have moved to evacuation centres set up by local administrative offices, where they receive support including thousands of meal boxes daily from the provincial non-formal education office. Officials describe the flood as the worst since 1996, with no sign of abating in the coming days.
