The Khon Kaen Governor has issued orders for officials including the district chief, provincial police deputy commander, and municipal officials to inspect five restaurant and bar establishments, checking emergency exits, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers. All businesses have been notified to comply strictly with safety measures or face immediate closure. The inspection is stricter than before following the Bangkok fire incident, covering both licensed establishments and unlicensed venues operating as bars. Licensed venues were found to have complete safety features, including four emergency exits matching their floor area and proper emergency lighting. Unlicensed venues are being required to clear evacuation routes and remove obstructions. Starting immediately, all 22 licensed entertainment venues in Khon Kaen city will be inspected, along with unlicensed establishments operating as bars, with orders to rectify any deficiencies as soon as possible.
