King Prajadhipok Institute Opens Applications for 16th Democracy Leadership Course
King Prajadhipok's Institute is accepting applications for the 16th cohort of its New Leaders in Democracy program, a six-month course designed to develop 100 mid-level leaders aged 30–40 from politics, government, business, and civil society. The updated curriculum focuses on democratic governance, strategic leadership, and cross-sector collaboration, with classes held on Saturdays from January to June 2027. Applications are open online from November 4–30, 2026.
King Prajadhipok's Institute, through its College of Politics and Governance, has announced applications for the 16th New Leaders in Democracy certificate program (PNP 16) for the 2026–2027 academic year. The program aims to develop mid-level leaders aged 30–40 from the political, government, private, and civil society sectors, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for leadership in a democratic system. Participants will learn to navigate economic, social, political, and technological changes while fostering cross-sector collaboration to drive national development based on democratic principles and good governance.
For this 16th cohort, the institute has revised and developed the curriculum with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, focusing on cultivating well-rounded global leaders. The program strengthens understanding of democracy, management, and leadership development alongside essential future skills — strategic thinking, adaptability, conflict resolution, and building cooperation amid diversity — all grounded in integrity, ethics, non-violence, and social responsibility.
The curriculum blends theory and practice across four core modules: democratic politics and governance, leadership concepts and skills, leaders and the future world, and applied group projects. Activities include experience-sharing sessions, domestic and international study visits, and hands-on practice, enabling participants to apply knowledge directly to their work and contribute to the public good.
A key highlight is creating a platform for emerging leaders from diverse professions and sectors to exchange perspectives, experiences, and approaches to solving public problems. This builds a strong network of leaders capable of linking cooperation among government, business, political, and civil society sectors to jointly strengthen democracy, promote good governance, and create lasting positive change for Thai society.
The PNP 16 program is limited to 100 participants. Applicants must be 30–40 years old by the application deadline (with exceptions for Members of Parliament under specified conditions) and meet the institute's eligibility criteria. The course runs from January to June 2027, with classes held every Saturday.
Interested applicants can apply online from November 4–30, 2026; the system closes on November 30 at 4:30 PM.
