Lamphun Launches Free Electric Bus Service for Six Months
Lamphun launches a free electric bus service starting September 8, 2026, operating for six months with hourly service connecting key city locations and promoting sustainable tourism.
Lamphun Governor Piyapong Chuawong presided over the launch of the Lamphun EV Bus, a public electric transit service, alongside Wiradech Phupphisit, the head of the Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization, and local government leaders. The service aims to provide additional transportation options, connect key locations within Lamphun city, and promote the province as a clean, convenient, and environmentally friendly destination.
The Lamphun EV Bus will operate free of charge from September 8, 2026, through March 8, 2027 (six months). Service runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., departing from Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization Central Stadium, with initial frequency of one bus per hour on both clockwise and counterclockwise routes.
Passengers can track buses in real-time using the TSB Go Plus app (available on iOS and Android), which provides route information, bus stops, service hours, and more. The buses accommodate 22 seated passengers plus 16 standing passengers (maximum 40 total) and feature wheelchair accessibility with dedicated boarding areas, free Wi-Fi, GPS tracking, and audio announcements at all stops.
