Deputy Prime Minister Yasothon Wongsawasdee chaired a meeting on September 9 at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to address management of educational space at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok's Uthen Thawai campus. Senior officials from both institutions attended, along with Bangkok Metropolitan Police leadership. Wongsawasdee outlined four key resolutions: first, suspending classes in the disputed area for at least three months beginning immediately, while both institutions must arrange alternative teaching formats to preserve educational quality. Second, the university must urgently prepare a new teaching facility outside the disputed zone within the three-month window, with extension possible if work remains incomplete. Third, Pathumwan Institute of Technology must develop a transition plan. Wongsawasdee emphasized this dispute affects national security, Thailand's image, and public confidence, as Pathumwan and Siam areas serve as economic, tourism, education, and social hubs where youth converge.
