Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital acknowledged delays in retrieving archived X-ray images caused by a database migration to a new data center, apologizing to affected patients and staff while working to resolve the technical disruption.
On September 9, Dr. Jirawan Aryapongse, director of Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital, and hospital management held a press briefing to clarify facts about online reports concerning delays in retrieving archived X-ray images. The hospital acknowledged the incident and apologized to patients and personnel affected by the disruption to patient care.
According to Dr. Jirawan, the hospital is not complacent and is working urgently to resolve the issue across its IT systems, workflows, and coordination procedures for the benefit of patients, staff, and system users. "The X-ray image database is currently undergoing a transition from the old data center to a new data center, with a large volume of data being transferred," she explained. "The transfer is not yet complete, and there are differences in the data access procedures, which have created obstacles for medical personnel to retrieve images."
The hospital has ordered responsible units to speed up corrections, review data access procedures, improve internal communication, and accept all suggestions for improvement to prevent further technical issues. Dr. Jirawan also addressed speculation about tension between doctors and nurses, confirming that all parties have discussed the matter and reached mutual understanding. She stressed that the hospital, composed of staff from many disciplines, must work together for the best interests of patients. The hospital emphasizes patient safety as its top priority.
