Large Rice Mill Warehouse Fire Spreads Despite 15 Trucks
A rice mill warehouse in Phetchaburi Province erupted in flames on September 22, with over 15 fire trucks battling the blaze amid explosions fueled by stored coconut fiber and flammable palm oil tanks.
A large rice mill warehouse in Samueangron Subdistrict, Phetchaburi Province, caught fire on September 22, 2026. Deputy Superintendent Yo Buaban of Muang Phetchaburi Police Station received the report and coordinated with the Sawarnsarpetkornsat Rescue Foundation and local government fire units. More than 15 fire trucks from local authorities in the area and neighboring zones rushed to the scene.
Dense black smoke billowed from the warehouse, and periodic explosions were heard at intervals. Firefighters struggled to control the blaze due to extremely high temperatures at the site. The warehouse contained coconut fiber used for fertilizer production and numerous old palm oil tanks, which are highly flammable and fueled the rapid spread and explosions. Thick, foul-smelling smoke blanketed the surrounding area.
As of the latest update, firefighters had not yet brought the fire under control. The damage assessment remains unavailable, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
