M6 Motorway Trial Extended Through September 29
The M6 motorway between Bang Pa-in and Pak Chong remains free to use through September 29 to provide an alternative route during flooding on major highways, with regular weekend-only service resuming afterward.
The Department of Highways has extended the trial opening of the M6 motorway between Bang Pa-in and Pak Chong through midnight on Tuesday, 29 September, as a special measure to provide motorists with an alternative route amid flooding on major highways.
The approximately 110-kilometre section of Motorway No. 6 is currently open to motorists free of charge. The route was originally scheduled to operate on a trial basis every Friday through Sunday. Under the temporary extension, motorists will be able to use the Bang Pa-in–Pak Chong section continuously until midnight on 29 September.
The Department of Highways said the extension is intended to provide an additional travel option and help ease traffic on highways affected by flooding, including Phahonyothin Road between Bang Pa-in and Saraburi, and Mittraphap Road between Saraburi and Kaeng Khoi.
After the special measure ends at midnight on 29 September, the M6 trial service will return to its regular schedule, with free access every Friday through Sunday. The next regular opening is scheduled for Friday, 2 October 2026.
As the M6 project remains under construction, with road systems still being installed, only four-wheeled vehicles are permitted to use the route. The speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour.
The Department of Highways urged motorists to exercise caution, avoid stopping or parking unnecessarily on the motorway, and strictly follow traffic signs and instructions from officials.
