Man Arrested With 40,000 Methamphetamine Pills At Phatthalung
Police arrested a man in Phatthalung with 40,000 methamphetamine pills he was collecting from a rental house as part of a drug trafficking operation running pills from northern Thailand through commercial logistics services.
Phatthalung Provincial Police arrested a 37-year-old man named Nopanart on September 16, 2026, after discovering 40,000 methamphetamine pills concealed in a parcel at a rental house in Muang District. Officers had been coordinating with the Border Patrol Police following intelligence about a drug trafficking network from northern Thailand using commercial logistics services to smuggle large quantities of narcotics through Phatthalung. The intended recipient was identified as a woman named Chutima living at a rental property on Petchkasem Road.
Police staked out the location and arrested Nopanart as he arrived to collect the package. During questioning, he claimed a woman had contacted him offering 10,000 baht per delivery. He said the rental house was convenient because it was near his own home, and a bronze Toyota pickup truck would deliver the parcels before he would retrieve payment left in a black plastic bag by the roadside. Police records showed Nopanart had previously been arrested and convicted on drug and weapons charges, but had been released and continued to be involved in illegal drug distribution.
